The past week

Hey guys! On Wed. I took Camden in to meet my co-workers. They passed him around loved on him a little--more new members of the Camden fan club! (Sheez, this guy gets all the attention!) I told them I would be returning to work in early August. Kevin has a little PTO himself, and plans to stay at home with Camden for 4 weeks after I go back to work. Then we'll enroll Camden at LaPetite Academy to meet new friends! After meeting them, I took him to Cool Moose to meet Tony and Craig. They oooed and awwed over him too. On Thurs. I had my 6 week check-up. They insist on the new mommies bringing in their babies for the rest of the staff to play with while we're examined so that's what I did! They all loved Camden too! My check-up was good--she says I look fine. After the Dr. appt. we stopped by cousin Maddie's house for Camden to meet Ms. Delores while I played with Maddie and her ballerina puzzle. (Cousin Jake was napping). Ms. Delores had fun cuddling him and said we can stop by any time!

Rub-a-dub-dub

Here's a shot of Daddy giving Camden his first tub bath a few weeks ago. (Thanks for the tub, Nanna & Gramps!)

Catching some zzzzz's

And a few shots showing you what Camden likes to do with his day!

Too big for his britches

Camden got an Orioles bear (from his friends Katie and Emily) and I decided to surprise Kevin one night when the Orioles had a game on TV by having Camden steal the bear's outfit. Obviously it was too little for Camden, but Daddy was thrilled to see him in it!

Roadtrip!

We took Camden for his first ever road trip yesterday, 30 minutes away to St. Augustine. (We're working him up for his 2 family beach trips coming up.) He enjoyed the trip up and while there dozed a lot in his stroller. He got a lot of looks from people passing by, which I must admit made me very proud! One 50-ish man even came up to us, peered in and asked how old Camden was, saying he was a brand new grandpa. Camden did not like the ride home as much, and let us know about it! But at home, he fell right to sleep in Daddy's arms after finishing his bottle. What a day!

Go USA!!

Kevin just got out of his meeting a little early today to come and watch the US in the world cup with Camden. But he's got to be back at work in 20 minutes! What a fan! And so is his little man, who's wearing his red, white and blue to support the team. (Actually he's in his 3rd outfit today because he's trying to go for a world record for spitting up! And we're running out of patriotic clothing!!)

To Joani:

Thanks so much, Joani for helping me start this up! Love ya

Camden hanging out

Here's a few more pictures of Camden around the house...
Sometimes I get so tired, I can "talk" Camden into taking a nap with me in the bed. But he sleeps everywhere during the day: in the swing, in his crib, in the Boppy...you name it! He usually goes down at night around 9 or 10 and sleeps for about 4 to 5 hours before waking up to eat and to be changed. I sing hymns and lullabies to him and it helps us both calm down. Then he sleeps for about 2 or 3 hours more and we get up around 6 or 7. Not too shabby for a "newborn". Lately he's gotten fussy at night and Kevin and I are learning our tricks to calm him. Daddy also gives him a bottle of breastmilk + multivitamin drop. That way he gets his bonding time in too. There's also a picture of Camden having some tummy time on the quilt Grandma made for him. He can already roll over from his belly to his back! (He started doing that at about 2 1/2 weeks--gotta brag!). The last picture I took as a joke. Camden's wearing the t-shirt Aunt Betsy got him that says "Party at my crib". So Camden decided to invite over some of his party animals.

The whole Bailey clan

On Mother's Day, we took a pictue of the entire Bailey family together and it turned out so cute, I just have to share it!

Getting the hang of things

We finally got high-speed internet and now I can post pictures on the blog. Here are the most recent ones we have of Camden...
And by the way, Kevin's back has improved greatly. It still hurst a little, but not half as bad as it was. A little rest and some meds did the trick!
Camden is now about 6 weeks old and starting next week we're going to start showing him off! :)

Poor Kevin!!

Kevin has been complaining of back pain for the past few days and yesterday it was so bad, it took his breath away and he had to come home early from work. It was just as bad this morning, so he decided not to go into work today and got an afternoon Dr. appt. The Dr. said he'd torn a muscle in his back! He gave him a Rx for a painkiller, a muscle relaxer and a special heat pad. Kevin was told not to lift anything heavier than Camden. So now I'm taking care of two babies! But hopefully Kevin will recover with a few more days of rest and the meds...

The day we became a family

On May 11th (2 days after he was due), our beautiful son Camden James was born. He weighed 7 lbs and 13 oz and was 20 inches long. He is the answer to so many prayers and the fulfillment of our dreams! We're having so much fun getting the hang of this new parent stuff and marveling at how fast Camden is growing. We want to thank you all for your prayers, thoughts, visits, food and everything else you've done to support us.
Here are just a few of our favorite pictures from that amazing day...

Kevin, Becky & Camden's Page

Hi all! Welcome to our new family home page. You can drop in any time to see what Kevin, Becky and Camden have been up to lately. Hopefully, we'll be able to keep up with this, but Kevin and Becky are new parents (and Camden hasn't learned to type yet!). We'll always try to at least leave a post and let you know what's going on that week. Thanks for visiting! XOXOX :)
