"Little Feather" and Pocohantas

Hey all! Our Church had its Fall Fest on Sunday and Camden and I modeled the fall line of Mona Kimble's latest designs. This year, it's very earthy and tribal, with accents of feather and fringe.
We will be posting other pics of Halloween night, of course, but I know you've all been DYING to see what Camden was going to come out with this year!
Thanks, Grandma for the beautiful costumes!

Changing diapers...and day cares

As of November 1st, Camden will be switching day cares to Developmental Learning Center (DLC) Nurse and Learn. It's a super-cool place that offers PT, OT and Speech on site. It will be closer than Orange Park, so we'll save on gas (it's literally within walking distance) and the tuition is actually cheaper too. The therapies will be paid for by the early intervention program, but Camden will continue to see his PT Lisa at least once a week.
Here's their website if you're curious: http://www.dlcnl.org/
We are very excited for Camden. But also a little sad to be leaving La Petite. But this is what he needs and we think he'll really like it there.

A Promising Change

Hey all! For those that don't know, or those that want some details, I started my new part time job for Family Promise yesterday. FP is an Interfaith Hospitality Network, that works at providing shelter, food and support services to homeless families. There are about 17 Churches that participate. The families (usually about 3 of them) spend a week at a Church, sleeping there at night and getting meals from volunteers. During the day, the adults go to the day center to search for jobs or housing while the kids go to school/daycare or just hang out. At the end of the week, everyone packs up and will spend the new week at another Church.
I will be working as a case manager to these families from 1-7 everday. Family Promise has an 89% effective rate and I really feel called to this great program. Mindy (the director and "boss") is sooo cool and she's going to be easy to work with. All I've done so far is read manuals, sign forms and all but soon I'll be diving into the good stuff!
I'm still working with the ACT Team (adults w/mental illness) from 8-12 everday, until they find a replacement for me. So far, it's working out okay, just very exhausting!
