5 Months & Then Some

So what has our little guy been up to? He hasn't uttered "Mama" or "Dada" yet, but that doesn't stop both of us from working on him. (When I'm slathering him with lotion and he's hollering, I like to say "I'll stop as soon as you say 'Mama'." But this hasn't worked yet). He rolls over from his back to his belly but it seems to be harder to get from his belly to his back. Guess it's that spare tire he's got on him. He smiles, coos and cackles a lot and when Daddy gets really goofy with him, Camden gives this hysterical giggle. He's still dining on breastmilk but Ms. Patsy at school has gotten him eating formula better now, which is good because my supply is not as much as it used to be. We still haven't tried solids again because of the rash of rashes. We're thinking about trying again at 6 months.
So, we're getting ready for Halloween. Grandma has made him a sweet little monkey outfit. He's going as Curious George and Daddy is the Man in the yellow hat. We will, of course, be posting pictures.
Here's a few of some sweet shots we've gotten of Camden recently.

Go Bucs!!

Aunt Betsy sent Camden a Bucs jersey to wear and he and Mommy were so excited, we had to take some pictures in our matching jerseys. And the jersey seemed to have brought the Bucs some luck...they had their first win of the season on Sunday! (He still, of course loves his Ravens and Jags too!)

Gramps stayed over at our house last night. He was traveling through and made a pit stop in Jacksonville. We had dinner at Joani's (Sam grilled some yummy fish!) and Maddie showed us her ever-growing knowledge of her letters. Later, Camden had a little one-on-one time with Gramps before his bedtime and gave him some big grins! (He really loves his Gramps!!)

Back up to speed

Hey all, this week we bought a new computer and the blogging is back on! Camden's rashes/excema(?) have gotten a lot better. We are gooking him up all the time now, which he hates but it really does help. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers!

We had a great time with Grandpa, Grandma and "Aint" Laura last weekend. We all went out to Casbah for hookahs and bellydancing and had a blast. Aunt Laura belted out "Get it girl!" when the dancer came out and Camden tipped her with a single that Daddy had put in his hand. That made her smile! He also took his first big tub bath last weekend. Grandma and Aunt Laura gave it to him and he loved it! Aunt Laura rolled up a towel which supported him and watched to make sure he didn't get a "snoot-full" of water (as she put it) up his nose! On Sunday we even had Uncle Jason and Aunt Betsy over to hang out before they went out to sell beads.
Here are some pics from the weekend...Camden is sporting the Clemson jersey that Aunt Laura bought for him. And Camden was hamming it up with Grandpa's hookah--not to worry, he didn't smoke!

Catching you up

As most of you know, our computer is down right now. I'm at the library now, gettting caught up on my e-mailing and bloggging. We've been busy so there's a lot to catch up on!

Last weekend, Camden and I traveled to Aunt Betsy's house in Gainesville. It was his first time there and Aunt Betsy was a great hostess! She and her staff worked on my teeth for Family Day and Camden got to meet everyone, including his new buddy Alex (Sabrina's son who's a month behind Camden and looks just like him!). Here are some shots from that weekend.

I also went with Joani and Maddie to Build-a-Bear, where Maddie made herself a fabulous Hello Kitty. The lady at the counter asked her what she had named her Hello Kitty and Maddie just replied "Hello Kitty!" (of course!).

This week was a little rough because Camden had a bad rash that we thought was just a heat rash. But it got worse and I had to take him out of school and get a Dr's note saying it wasn't contagious. The Dr. we saw was not Cam's regular Dr. and he thought it was exzema and recommended we slick Camden up with our choice of lotion 3-4 times a day. Well, we used Aveeno Baby and it seemed to get worse. When we stopped using it, he healed very quickly so we suspect that maybe the whole thing was an allergy to Aveeno. But it could have been the food.

Oh yeah! And we experimented with some solids this week too! Camden didn't care for the rice cereal (which we've put in his bottle before) and applesauce, but it takes many tries. We're going to try again when his rash has completely healed to see if that's what was causing the breakout.

Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt Laura are coming this weekend and we're super-excited. We post some pictures when we get a chance.

Hopefully the computer gets up and running soon....Didn't know how dependent on it we were!!

To Grandmother's house we go

Another monthly supervision for Daddy gave us a great excuse to make the trip over to Tallahassee to see Nana and Gramps and to tailgate with "Uncle Andrew and Aunt Amie" and hang with his FSU buds Emily, Katie, Jackson, Ms. Edie and Mr. Ed. Even Uncle Jon (who has moved out of the house and into a real apartment now that he's in college!) made an appearance. It was Camden's first tailgating experience and he had a blast. Emily and Katie pushed him around in the stroller around the stadium and we all got to hear the Chiefs as they marched in. It was awesome! What was not so awesome was our loss to Clemson, but oh well. Championship Schmanshionship! It was great to see Jackson again--he's gotten so big and has such a funny little personality. Mommy also got to meet baby Olivia (see prior post) who is brand new and Nana got to spend some quality time with Camden on Friday night. What a great weekend!
